Cademy is a fast growing startup, based in Edinburgh, that is building a marketplace and tools that are powering the future of Education.
Currently finding a good, reputable educator to learn with is a pain, with the lack of reviews, out-dated booking tools and general lack of information. We aim to fix this by providing educators the tools they need to operate their businesses, while also making their courses & workshops more visible & accessible to their customers.
We are expanding our engineering team to continue to build on our vision for the future of education.
There are two sides to what we are building; on one side we intend to be the world’s largest (and best) marketplace for courses and workshops, and on the other a set of tools that educators can use to power their businesses and allow them to focus on the teaching, not the admin.

Our mission is to make education more accessible.
Every day, over 100k people in the UK alone search for courses. Finding and booking courses today is a massive pain - there’s no single place to search, compare and easily pay for a course. At Cademy, we’re solving this by making it easier than ever to find and book courses, whilst also helping educators simplify how they run and sell courses.
The idea for Cademy came when Adrian’s mom asked him to find her an english class. Adrian spent days calling local language schools to ask basic details such as dates, availability, target age, etc. There was no way to compare options, and there was no way to pay online. The whole process took days and was an absolute pain in the tits. In the end, the class was quite disappointing and Adrian’s mom dropped out after only a few days. All the effort and expense was wasted. This problem prompted the beginning of what later became Cademy. There’s a longer version of our story here:

At this point there’s 10 people working on Cademy full time: 7 people on the product/dev team & 3 on the growth side. Our goal is not only to build a startup, but to build some great friendships along the way. We’re not looking for employees who will be punching in & out every day - we’re looking for someone who can become just as excited as we are about building the future of education.
Harry usually brings his dogs to the office. The big one is Cooper and the small one is Ivy.

Fridays we finish at 4pm and go across the street to our favourite pub - Brass Monkey.

Every Friday, we order food for lunch. Five Guys is our favourite.
We’ve got a ping pong table in the office and occasionally run championships, with a little trophy being awarded to the winner.
We are based in Leith, at 27 Queen Charlotte Street, Edinburgh, EH6 6AX.
We primarily work from the office. We come to the office not because we have to, but because we want to. We are more productive and more social when we come to the office. We also find it’s better for building a great culture in the early days. That being said, we do often work remotely and are happy to consider remote applicants as well.
